Windows 7 "End of Life"

Sounds dramatic, but don't freak out....
A lot of websites are promoting upgrading to Windows 10 before January 14th, 2020 as Windows 7 will be "extremely vulnerable to attack" and other such fear-inducing turns of phrase.
Yes, Windows 7 will stop receiving security updates unless you're a Microsoft partner or a Volume Licensing partner and can pay for the Extended Security Updates program (looking into this myself - I still use W7), but if there's a decent Antivirus package on the PC (I use ESET Internet Security), customers are more likely to get scammed by "Telstra" or :"NBN" calling and tricking them into doing something questionable that the AV can't guard against.
Bottom line is - don't feel your computer will stop working or that you'll be suddenly be alone and defenseless. You'll still have your computer tech (possibly me) and you should have a robust antivirus to guard you. And if not? drop me a line
